How we work World Vision is committed with about 100 countries in society’s transformation programmes. Present in six continents, World Vision supports the creation of Area Development Programmes (ADPs) in rural and urban areas, which figures among most vulnerable ones. More than two million children now benefit directly from World Vision sponsorship programmes across the globe, while our relief and development work enhances the lives of nearly 100 million people. Achieving transformational development The principles that the Transformational Development looks are: ●Community ownership ● Sustainability Children are the hope of the world, while at the same time the most vulnerable victims of conflicts, disasters, and poverty. World Vision's community-based transformational development activities seek to improve the lives of children and their families through specific sectors of development including health care, agriculture, water and sanitation, education, micro-enterprise development and the promotion of justice. Children are the hope of the world, while at the same time the most vulnerable victims of conflicts, disasters, and poverty. World Vision's community-based transformational development activities seek to improve the lives of children and their families through specific sectors of development including health care, agriculture, water and sanitation, education, micro-enterprise development and the promotion of justice. In partnership with disadvantaged communities, World Vision works to achieve healthy, fuller lives of dignity, justice and hope. With appropriate assistance, poor communities can enhance education, improve health care, grow food, create jobs, foster self-development and nurture children. Prior to initiating work in a given community, we consult with its members regarding their needs and vision. We then seek to identify solutions, together with each community, that are sustainable and compatible with our core values. Most of our programmes are implemented in the poorest rural areas and communities of developing countries. Other programs are helping the urban poor and indigenous populations in industrialised nations.
