Seeking economic justice

Many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean handle large external debts, and while the debt-condoning amnesty is denied to them, developing countries are told with insistence to balance their budgets in times of high crisis (something not even the most developed countries can achieve during a recession).

World Vision promotes influencing policies and government relations in the countries where it works so that governments invest more human and economic resources in their programs in order to reduce the poverty of the poorest boys and girls.

In Bolivia, World Vision is part of a committe of NGOs that oversee the distribution of state funding and its outcome, including its impact in public policy and the opportunities for citizen participation in the decision making process.
